I love these practical tips from Mark Dusseau on how to have social impact by building a mission driven business

I love these practical tips from Mark Dusseau on how to have social impact by building a mission driven business. I particularly liked his emphasis on paying attention to the market – profit matters because a business isn’t sustainable unless customers are buying, so tap into your community to follow what they need.

Art will be the future of humanity in a post-AI world.

Posted on April 19, 2024August 22, 2025 by admin

Art will be the future of humanity in a post-AI world. I have had a couple conversations about AI this week where my perspective was surprising to others, so I wanted to more broadly share my thoughts to seed more possibilities about the future impact of AI. Generative AI as it currently exists does very…

Thanks, Alex Montas Hernández! I definitely appreciated the candid conversation, as I want to get to the heart of the matter and talk about how to translate ideas into real behaviors and practical outcomes.

Thanks to Alain Dumonceaux for the great conversation on his podcast the Revolutionary Man. Because he is primarily a men’s coach, we dove into a more personal set of topics than my typical executive coaching conversations. Take a listen!

I am starting a new experiment to push into my discomfort. I am very comfortable with writing as somebody that grew up in the text era of the Internet. But I can’t deny how other people appreciate hearing and seeing content in video form, not just reading it. I’ve been saying I’ll do something in that area for a year, and it’s time to try it.

Where do you want to invest your energy?

Posted on April 3, 2024August 22, 2025 by admin

Where do you want to invest your energy? Many productivity gurus talk about time management, putting your time where you intend it to go. And that’s valuable. But time is limited and zero-sum; an hour spent in one area is an hour not spent in another area. I find it helpful to think about energy…

I had a great conversation with Michael Trugman on his podcast Mike’s Search for Meaning, where we dove deep on many of my coaching influences, as well as a bit of impromptu coaching around Mike’s desire for greater recognition and how he might be holding himself back from that.

What happens if you step back?

Posted on March 28, 2024August 22, 2025 by admin

What happens if you step back? Most high achievers are trained to lean in; they have learned to push harder when something gets difficult. This can be effective with many kinds of individual work where it’s you against the work. But that tactic does not work as well with other people, because action creates reaction….

What conversation are you having?

Posted on March 26, 2024August 22, 2025 by admin

What conversation are you having? One concept I found helpful from the book Difficult Conversations by Stone, Patton and Heen, is that such conversations often intermingle three different conversations: Facts: What happened? Feelings: How do I feel about what happened? Identity: How is my identity impacted by what happened? Mixing those conversations can get confusing,…
