Building on my last post about resource allocation as a key skill for leaders, I offer that time is the most precious and irreplaceable resource, and therefore the most important to thoughtfully allocate. ”
“”
“Lots of people say “I don’t have enough time”, but they don’t finish the sentence “…to do everything I have to do.” There is no such thing as “enough” time. There are 168 hours each week, which is more like 100 hours after taking into account the time necessary to maintain our minds and bodies. ”
“”
“You can’t get more time in a week, so the only thing you can control is the unspoken part of that sentence – what you “have to do”. ”
“”
“If you have 100 hours each week as your “time budget”, how will you allocate it? How much goes to work? To family or friends? To urgent short-term needs? To building the foundation for long-term success? To your personal development? ”
“”
“People say they “have to” do everything their manager or customer (or spouse) asks of them, but that is letting somebody else control your time by letting them set your priorities. ”
“”
“What do _you_ choose as your priorities? ”
“How do you want to spend your time budget each week? ”
“What will you stop doing to enable that allocation of your time? ”
